Thank you for your insight on the deck. I playtested it but I still have huge problems against scorps and dragon. Any tips you could give?

Thx

Hello Robert,

Dragon is an uphill battle for everyone. Winning Dragon as any Clan, requires a big play of either Way of the Crab, Noble Sacrifice or I can swim. They can outforce almost everyone, having equally good military and political and they keep coming. So, what I'd suggest is pushing the game towards a good Assassination, Void, Way of the Crab and reset the board.

Scorpions are an easier matchup, but still much more difficult than the rest. I've found that Scorpion is where I missed Levy the most. Your 'go-to' win condition is dishonor, and you need to make them a bit careless with their cards. Bid high only if you sense a 'I can swim' turn and try to fish Shoju attacks, so you don't have to face him in your conflicts at least.

Yes it's amazing. You can attach it in battle to prevent the 'nuke' events and you can also use it to stop a personality from leaving play when the last fate token is removed. For instance a great early game play is to attack with scout or any cheap guy, Charge Kisada, attach reprieve and then keep him for the following turn. If you are lucky a second copy of him can also appear in the provinces.

Thank you for your extensive answer! I playtested a Dragon splash yesterday (3xM Fury, 3 Let go) which worked wonder against Dragon. However, I think the phx splash is better for the other matchups.

That's exactly the case. Dragons are relatively easier by splashing the cheesy, Let Go and Mirumoto's Fury, but the rest of the matchups aren't exactly better if you skip the Phoenix splash.

Still, I think that since most of the Dragons won't be running counterspell cards, you can make some big plays by Display of Power on their Ring of the Void, however, it's an uphill battle.

Currently, the best deck against Dragon (which seems to be one of the best decks in 3xCore) is Scorpion/Dragon with full attachment hate and I Can Swim/Shoju. Luckily, such decks, are quite a good matchup for the Crab/Phoenix, so you may get away with running the dishonor list, given that you play this deck in tournament format.

Seems good. 3x core crab pure offense looks bad to me now with a lack of mixed stats and blank SH on offense (hey, just like old times!). Fortunately they have some control to bleed opponents out on defense and the dishonor theme is, in a long game, essentially a hand destruction theme. Just have to survive to get there. So spies seems good as a 2 for 1 on honor if you can actually win the political conflict.

Number of pyres seems like it'll be up in the air as to whether you want the extra consistency for the risk of brick. Reprieve on the other hand just seem really good (yeah it can get nuked but the effects are great).
