I'll take Demopen anytime over this piece of cra[p]. 'nuff said.

Yes, it seems that the Hero Dueling theme is A BAD BAD deck for play experience. At the time I got the EC, i got a brief chat with one of the board guys and he asked for the decklist, since he was familiar with Salman's deck, he had an idea.

Then he said: "Damn United Ronin Decks, seem to be dominating. We will keep an eye on this kind of strategy"

What they missed was:
1) It was base CE (FFS)
2) I never played United (apart from one game that I outforced a goblin breeder with it)
3) The problem of the deck was not the DUELING PART! It was the Armor of the Ryu AND/OR Kuon combo.

From then on, our heroes got like 2 C and the Dueling theme was sentenced to play out of clan personalities for 9 gold when monks get 5 actions from a 5g monk.

I hope they get their info together and start producing cards that boost our favorite themes.

No idea why he's so restrictive. Would it have killed them just to give him the bow action without the alone part? I would've taken him at 8G for that ability, at least it gives us another solid Hero Unique besides Kosho and Kuon.

And yes...2 Chi...sigh. To be fair 3 Chi isn't hot for dueling either but it at least lets me bully people into accepting if it comes down to it. I like Demopen but hate his 2 Chi for the exact same reason, especially since Yamauchi is that much better than him and takes his spot in the dueling deck I played at my last Kotei. I liked this guy up until I read his ability.

Lastly, I don't get why Crab dueling is a problem when Crab needs to use guys like Hisao and Kuronada just to have guys that can duel with the beasts out there.

I don't get why dueling would be so much of a fuss. I mean it's a kill action that requires a card to do so.

Not that we ask for an 8g Naval with 5 Ranged attack printed. Hint hint.

Hero Theme
Ugh, ok decent stats but the Crab Hero chi slide continues so terrified are people of losing a duel to the Dread Crab Brokeness of having 4 chi and mainly 4s on their fate cards. Unique which means he'll show up to be medicore less often. But the ability, ah the ability. Quick question, why is Hida Hebi worse then Hida Tatsuma? We could mention that on a single personaility province run the resiliance cards for a hero limited as they are are better than the berserker set which chiefly rely on exploding but u ultimately its because they are both awesome on their own, but Tatsuma is still some use in an army, while Hebi is just there to explode for some card effect and as such can be safely ignored. What Mochitokos ability needed was a two tone approach as seen in for example Agasha Gifu or the Ig3 Crane Unique, something along the lines of "Battle: Target an enemy card, bow it if it has no attachments or Mochitoko is alone in his army." or "Battle: Target an enemy card with no attachments, bow it or destroy it if Mochitoko is alone in his army"

As is he's usually going to be a 5/2 for 7 Crab Hero with no ability, and honestly should that be the minimum level of competence for a deck to use?

Good for hitting the opponent before you bring in someone with Fortress?
3F 1C Barswanian - 3HR - 1GC - 2PH
Crab Clan * Loyal * Lorekeeper
When Barswanian comes into play he forgets what he's doing, remove him from the game.
If Barswanian is removed from the game, place him in one of the opponent's provinces face-up. He got lost! If there is another card in the province, discard Barswanian: he forgot what he was doing again.
If Barswanian is in the discard pile, place him on the top of his owner's dynasty deck.

Sorry to say, but this guy sucks.
I can find alot of uses even for bad cards sometimes, but this is just plain... sad. If he's alone, bow a card? Weaksauce.
At first I thought he was reasonably costed for status, but his ability is just such a travesty. I'd rather run some of the other Crabs.

I cannot co-sign that tactic.
Even if you got him out and slapped on The Republican Armor of NO! (Chagatai's Armor) This guy would still be a coaster.
So you pay 5 gold for him cause you could care less about the honor then another 10 for the armor. So that's 15 gold spent on a worthless unit.

For 9 Gold you get Yaheiko who can bow/kill and negate her death.

For 12 Kuon

For 13 Tamago

For 10 Furumaro

For 17 Kosho + Republican Armor

For 15 Demopen + Republican Armor

For 16 Tatsuma + Republican Armor

There really is absolutely NO possible way to justify this card. What's gonna be sad is if when the next big arc change happens, this craptastic card makes it to that set. If anyone heard a loud crashing sound, it was the sound of someone dropping the ball on this card.
