4F Kuni Iyedo 3C
-hr, 7g, 2ph
Crab Clan * Earth * Shugenja * Commander
Battle: Attach a target follower from your hand to your target personality in Iyedo's army.
"I will keep you pure, and you will keep them safe. We are the Crab, and we shall endure the trials to come"

A useful shugenja! A useful commander shugenja! (not that commander really 'works' atm). I will probably play him in 1 of my decks, and with having 1 more (boxable) non unique shuggie, and our jade champion, it does open up a few other posibilities - how reliable those would be (especially when you would probably be running followers if using this guy as well) could be questionable however.

Over all though, I like :)

Mix up Shugenja, Commanders, Followers and 4F crabs and you get...a fun deck.

That's the kind of card I have tons of in my binder and making up deck ideas for each one of them. Too bad I have never sleeved them.

Go go Crab Enlightenment! As a Commander, he's not bad, but it costs tempo to do so. Thankfully, he doesn't need to be opposed to do his thing, either.

Not bad, but not sure it'll make the cut in a Commander deck just yet.

Certainly better than the Unique guy though.

I've got a crab shooty deck (scouts with ranged/recon abilities, bachitari, a commander to make people 0 force, rokurota to attach followers etc) and this guy could almost replace open shore market in that Kyuden Hida deck. I'll be testing him out in that regard anyway. Appart from enlightenment decks, I can't see many of us using his shugenjaness.

He's a cheaper body with good PH for follower builds, a decent ability and keywords to match. Making it work from the discard pile would have made him awesome. I dunno why every other "follower" clan either has someone who can dig outta the discard pile or someone who can generate generic followers. They seem to fear giving us either.

I heard that we are too good, piloting High force decks with reactions and Impossible Force into high rankings in Koteis.

As long as Kuon, SPC and Armor of the Ryu exist, we are not getting anything.

Thank god for Yaheiko.

And the above is why I think (hope) the Crab should get a second victory condition in the next arc - be that Yaskuki dishonour/control/financial tech (or...kolat...), Yasuki/Kaiu honour making or something to do with Kuni witchhunters dishonouring your (potentially) tainted ass then whupping it.

When 'high force' is the basic principle of design for heros and berserkers, it is too easy to pull the best of them and your non-keyword specific guys to make a decent deck with Crab - and I'd like us to have a different design direction so that if Kuon/Ryu/Bamboo/Plains of Resolution (my ideal turn 2/3 ;) ) is too strong they can give us a new direction which shouldn't impact on the brute force side. But all that is way off topic, so uhm, yeah, Kuni. Pitty it didn't say attachment instead of follower (although I can understand why it doesn't - too wide a bracket of cards) so he could have rocked the whole earthen blade/tetsubo of earth thing.
