Looks like the wins got reported in the wrong order. Or something weird happened.

I was confused by the switch between diamonds, elephants and pearl bed and such, not entirely sure why that happened.

Crab Clan * Loyal * Lorekeeper * Jade Hand
When Barswanian comes into play he forgets what he's doing, remove him from the game.
If Barswanian is removed from the game, place him in one of the opponent's provinces face-up. He got lost! If there is another card in the province, discard Barswanian: he forgot what he was doing again.
If Barswanian is in the discard pile, place him on the top of his owner's dynasty deck.

yeah, the mantis are PISSED. Fortunately the crab are allies. They were very happy with crab taking the region 2 river locations (as was expressed in the kotei threads) since that tied perfectly in good yasuki/mantis trading negotiations which would allow our tag-team merchants to create a super monopoly on water routes. But now that crab moved to D3-2 it feels like crab is trying to snub their cousins the mantis at the coast (and not even the coast with land-access to twin forks or second city)

I can't imagine it not being a mistake though. Their names include "mountain" and "plains" respectively in the threads where they were chosen. The mountain name is supposed to be in the mountainous region (D2-15) and the plains are supposed to be in plains (D2-12). There are no mountains shown on the map in D3-2. Also, wasn't 'elephants' the 1st choice and picked the day before?

The TO confirmed in the alderac thread it was a shot at the mantis to break up their control of the coast.

As a strong supporter of 'crab/mantis' alliance (cousins forever) I am deeply disappointed that crab of all clans would be the one to take that step.

Yeah the report went in on email late, but we're asking about it because we noted it on the forum first. Don't know what will happen.

Pearl Beds was my second choice because I did like the idea of extending to the coast, but at the time of the win, there wasn't another Crab to connect to. So it's not TOO bad, but I really do want my elephants. We are asking to take 2-12 if possible or swap into 15 as intended since Spain gets the diamond mine either way.

I didn't select the coast just to piss off the Mantis (though its boring of them to want/expect they'll get the whole coast), I like the Pearl Bed due to our longstanding connection to the Naga, and lets not forget it was the Crab who had the first ever Naval personality.

Figured as much.

Oh well, guess we've got a coastal entry point instead.

I'd love to see more naga/crab relations love. Though I suspect most of the alliances that used to exist there went to sleep with the 'good' naga. (though we have not much story of the dark naga and how it effects their race so that is a mystery)

I didn't play that far back in the day. Were naga/crab armies out of the naga/crab stronghold run often?
